U.S. President Donald Trump has gifted cash to four of his advisors for Christmas, based on new financial disclosures made public by his administration, as reported by AFP and The Guardian.
Among the recipients is executive assistant Natalie Harp, dubbed the “human printer” for her ability to provide the president with printed information using a portable printer, who received $45,000.
Harp is one of the few officials with direct access to Trump’s Truth Social account, typing posts as he dictates, including his distinctive capitalization, as shown in footage from a documentary on the 2024 campaign.
In August, a source close to Trump expressed concern about Harp’s closeness to the president, revealing two letters suggesting that she shares a complex relationship with him.
Cash Gifts to Other Advisors
Two other advisors, Margo Martin, a communications advisor, and Chamberlain Harris, deputy director of Oval Office operations, also received $45,000 each. The three women described the funds as a “cash gift for the holidays” received last year.
Walt Nauta, director of Oval Office operations, was gifted $20,000.
Harp, Harris, and Martin are all salaried at $150,000 annually, while Nauta earns $175,000, according to People magazine.
A White House official told the Associated Press that Trump has a long-standing tradition of giving Christmas gifts to those in his circle, including employees and advisors, during both his public service and private sector careers.
The official did not specify whether other employees received similar gifts from the president but noted that cash gifts are unrelated to the individuals’ official governmental duties and are therefore fully permissible according to relevant legal and ethical standards.
