The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” wrote on May 14, 1949 that the film essay “Birobidzhan” (0+), dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Jewish Autonomous Region, had been released.

At the beginning of the film there is an inscription: resolution of the Central Executive Committee of the USSR, signed by M.I. Kalinin – May 7, 1934 “On the transformation of the Birobidzhan Jewish National District into the Jewish Autonomous Region as part of the Far Eastern Territory.” The inscription is replaced by a map.

In one fraternal family, people of different nationalities work in the region: Russians, Jews and many other nationalities.

The fertile land generously rewards agricultural workers for their labors. The film shows a joyful picture of the harvest: at the experimental station, girls are picking apples; in suburban collective farms, potatoes, watermelons, and tomatoes are being harvested. Hunters hunt in forests rich in fur. Fishing is successful in rivers rich in fish.

The film tells about the natural resources hidden in the depths of the Jewish Autonomous Region, about enterprises in the region that mine gold, tin, lime, and marble.

The screen shows the famous monument on Volochaevskaya Sopka.

Large funds were allocated for construction purposes – more than 5 million rubles. It is planned to build a modern greenhouse complex with an area of ​​six hectares. The creation of the Birobidzhansky state farm, which is based on a greenhouse complex, will become a practical implementation of the food program put forward by the Central Committee of the CPSU. Construction of the complex began in February 1979. For the Birobidzhan greenhouse, the customer received all the equipment three years ago.

To manage the construction, the CPSU city committee created an operational headquarters. He regularly holds weekly planning meetings and, to a certain extent, coordinates the actions of builders.
