20-year-old man detained after allegedly beating his grandfather in a market in Caracal

A 20-year-old man was detained by the police after beating his 67-year-old grandfather in a market in the municipality of Caracal. The boy is also accused of violating a protection order.

The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon in front of a shop located in the market area of Caracal municipality. A woman alerted the authorities after she saw the man punching and kicking an elderly person.
Arriving at the scene, the police established that the victim is the aggressor's grandfather.
“Police officers from the Caracal Municipality Police immediately went to the scene, who, from the first checks, established the fact that a 20-year-old man from Gostavățu commune, while he was on Calea Bucharest street, in the Caracal municipality, in the area of a commercial company, had physically assaulted his grandfather, a 67-year-old man from the same locality. At the same time, following the checks carried out, it was found that the young man had violated the measures ordered by a protection order issued by the Caracal Court”stated representatives of the County Police Inspectorate (IPJ) Olt, quoted by Agerpres.
The authorities started investigations for domestic violence and violation of the measures ordered by the protective order. After the trial, under the supervision of a prosecutor from the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Caracal Court, the young man was detained for 24 hours.
