Rospotrebnadzor named diseases that have become less common in Russians

In Russia in 2025, a significant decrease in the incidence of 13 diseases of various nature was recorded. Rospotrebnadzor reports this.

Compared to long-term averages, the most noticeable decrease was noted for hepatitis B. The incidence of hepatitis B decreased by 3.1 times. Indicators for meningitis and tularemia also decreased by 2.7 times, pseudotuberculosis by 2.5 times, gonococcal infection by 2.4 times, dysentery by 2.3 times.

According to the department, there were also fewer cases of whooping cough in 2025. A total of 7,288 cases were registered. This is 4.5 times lower than the 2024 level. The decline continues in HIV infection. In 2025, the incidence rate decreased by 13.4% compared to 2024 and by 40% compared to the long-term average level.

In addition, Rospotrebnadzor noted a decrease in the number of cases of various fevers. The incidence of Crimean hemorrhagic fever has decreased by 2 times.

There has also been a decrease in acute intestinal infections caused by the bacteria Yersinia enterocolitica, and in the number of newly identified active forms of tuberculosis.
