Moscow's reaction after Zelenskiy trolled it with a decree “allowing” him to hold his parade: “It's his problem”

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reacted sourly to the gesture of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who on Friday issued a decree “allowing” a parade to be held in Moscow.

“Woe to the one who tries to make fun of Victory Day. It's his problem,” said Vladimir Putin's spokesman.

“We don't need anyone's permission,” he added, referring to Saturday's military parade in Moscow.

The reaction comes after Zelenskiy confirmed Donald Trump's announcement of a three-day truce with Russia on Friday evening and further issued a decree “allowing” the Victory Day military parade to take place in Russia.

“I hereby decree: to allow the organization of a parade in the city of Moscow (Russian Federation) on May 9, 2026,” the decree reads.

According to the document, during the parade, the plan for the use of Ukrainian weapons excludes the area of Red Square in Moscow, its coordinates being specified extremely precisely:

“55.754413 37.617733 — near the State Duma / Manezhnaya Square
55.755205 37.619181 — northern edge of Red Square
55.753351 37.622854 — east of Red Square, near the GUM store
55.752504 37.621538 — right next to Saint Basil's Cathedral”
