Volodymyr Zelensky went to the front to congratulate the soldiers who liberated several localities previously occupied by the Russians

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy visited on Friday Ukrainian units fighting on the front in the Oleksandrivka sector (southeast), from where he denounced the fact that Russian forces continue to attack Ukrainian positions despite the truce declared by the Kremlin on the occasion of Victory Day over Nazi Germany on May 8 and 9, EFE and RBC.ua report, quoted by Agerpres.
“Despite the announced truce, the enemy has not reduced the intensity of its attacks,” Zelenskiy wrote on his social media accounts after being briefed by the military on the situation on the ground, on the very first day of the 48-hour truce declared by the Kremlin starting at midnight last night.
Zelenskiy also discussed with soldiers in the units he visited the situation of foreign fighters fighting in their ranks, the use of unmanned ground vehicles to protect soldiers at the front, as well as deliveries of armored vehicles and artillery ammunition.
The Ukrainian president also decorated soldiers from the Autonomous Mechanized Brigades no. 31 and no. 67, two of the units he visited during this trip to the front.
In recent weeks, according to RBC.ua, Ukrainian forces have undertaken successful counteroffensive actions in this sector of the front and have taken control of 12 settlements previously occupied by the Russians.
