A truck driver with hidden license plates tried to bribe a policeman in Krasnoyarsk

Krasnoyarsk traffic police regiment inspectors stopped an attempt to give a bribe by a truck driver.

He was stopped in the evening on Karaulnaya Street due to the fact that the license plate was covered with bars to make it difficult to identify the vehicle.

“A 43-year-old man was driving. To avoid administrative liability, the offender offered police officers an illegal monetary reward in the amount of 2,000 rubles. Despite a warning about criminal liability for giving a bribe, the driver insisted on handing over the money. Traffic police inspectors immediately reported this offense to the department’s duty station and called an investigative team,” the traffic police said.

A criminal case was opened against the motorist under Part 1 of Art. 291.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Petty bribery”. NThis may be punishable by a fine of up to 200 thousand rubles, or correctional or forced labor, or imprisonment for a term of up to one year.
