On May 5, a telephone conversation took place between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the aggressor country Russia, Sergei Lavrov. This was stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
Moscow claims that the parties “checked notes on the current situation in international affairs and Russian-American relations, and also discussed the schedule of bilateral contacts.”
The conversation was “constructive and businesslike,” writes the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The US State Department has not yet published comments about the conversation between the heads of the foreign affairs departments of Washington and Moscow.
