In the Kozul municipal district, a court imposed a fine on a local resident for cruelty to an animal. A man was found guilty due to the death of his dog.

The incident occurred in December 2025 in the village of Novochernorechensky. According to the prosecutor's office, a drunk 24-year-old guy went out into the yard of his house and brutally killed his own dog. He lifted the animal by its hind legs and hit its head several times with force against the corner of a wooden building. A neighbor heard the pitiful barking, but he did not have time to save the dog: the animal died from its injuries.

A veterinary forensic examination later confirmed that the cause of death was injury resulting from the actions of the owner.

During interrogation, the man admitted that he was angry with his wife that day, but took it out on the animal. After the incident, he asked his neighbor not to tell anyone about what happened.

The magistrate found the resident of the Kozul district guilty under Part 1 of Art. 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on cruelty to animals. He was given a fine of 10 thousand rubles. The court took into account the state of alcoholic intoxication as an aggravating circumstance.
