Ukraine is counting on the opening of negotiation clusters regarding accession to the European Union in May and June, President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday after a meeting with the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, in Yerevan.

“We hope to open all six negotiation clusters this month and next. Technically, Ukraine is fully ready,” Zelensky wrote in the Telegram messenger.
The President thanked the President of the European Council for his support and personal contribution to unlocking the aid package worth EUR 90 billion. “It is important that funds start arriving as soon as possible and help Ukraine prepare for winter,” he stressed.
In mid-March, EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos announced that the European Union had “informally” opened all six clusters in accession talks with Ukraine. To formally open each of the six clusters, the consent of all member states is required, which in the case of Ukraine has not been agreed to by Hungary so far. (PAP)
