On May 4, a shooting occurred in Washington near the White House. American journalist Nick Sortor reported this on the social network X.
According to him, after the incident, the White House was allegedly closed to access and security was strengthened, and the press was moved to the briefing room. US President Donald Trump was safe, Sortor noted.
The shooting was subsequently confirmed by the US Secret Service. Law enforcement officers were working near the intersection of 15th Street and Independence Avenue.
One person was injured as a result of the actions of law enforcement officers; his condition is still unknown.
Sortor later announced the completion of the operation.
