The president of Cuba asks for the reaction of the international community after Donald Trump threatened the country with a military invasion: “Such a radical criminal act”

Donald Trump's threats of military aggression against Cuba have reached “a dangerous and unprecedented level”, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel denounced on Saturday, who called on the international community to react, reports AFP, according to Agerpres.
In a speech in Florida on Friday, the US president reiterated his threat to “take control” of Cuba, suggesting that a US aircraft carrier could stop there “on the way back from Iran”.
“The US president is launching his threats of military aggression against Cuba at a dangerous and unprecedented level,” Miguel Diaz-Canel reacted on the X social network.
He called on the international community to “take note” and decide “with the people of the United States” whether to allow “such a radical criminal act to be committed.”
According to the Cuban head of state, an American military intervention would first of all “satisfy” the interests of the Cuban exile community installed in Florida, “a small but rich and influential group, animated by a desire for revenge and domination”.
“No aggressor, no matter how powerful he is, will have no share in the surrender of Cuba,” warned Miguel Diaz-Canel.
Donald Trump's statements in Florida, home to the largest Cuban community abroad, were made a few hours after the US president signed a presidential decree that tightens US sanctions against the government in Havana and entities that collaborate with it.
The US president, who has been applying a policy of maximum pressure against Cuba since the beginning of the year, estimates that the communist island, located 150 km off the coast of Florida, continues to represent “an extraordinary threat” to US national security.
In addition to the American embargo in force since 1962, Washington, which does not hide its desire to see a regime change in Havana, has imposed an oil embargo on the island since January, allowing the passage of only one Russian oil tanker.
On Friday, a May 1 parade denouncing threats of US aggression was held in front of the US embassy in Havana, attended by revolutionary leader Raul Castro, 94, and the Cuban president.
