MAE warning for Romanians traveling to Great Britain, after the latest anti-Semitic attack. Terrorist threat level raised to 'severe'

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) informs Romanian citizens who are in, transiting or intending to travel to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland that, in accordance with the data published by the government authorities, the threat level regarding the possibility of a terrorist attack has been raised to level 4 (severe – very high possibility), after the recent attack in Golders Green, north of London.

According to the MAE, after the recent attack in Golders Green, north of London, the British authorities believe that the risk of new attacks is high and recommend maximum caution in highly frequented public places, especially in train stations, airports and in the vicinity of educational or religious institutions.

Anti-Semitic attack in north London

Two people were injured on Wednesday in a knife attack in the London neighborhood of Golders Green, where a large Jewish population lives, and the suspect was arrested.

According to the police, two men – one about 30 years old and the other about 70 years old – were stabbed and were transported to the hospital in a stable condition.

The suspect, a 45-year-old man, was arrested and also tried to attack the police. The motivation of the attack is not yet clear, but it seems to have the character of an anti-Semitic attack and took place near a synagogue. The nationality of the suspect has not yet been specified.
