TOP 7 cucumbers for the greenhouse in 2026 – without bitterness and yellow spots

In the Russian climate, a greenhouse helps to harvest cucumbers much earlier and more reliably than in an open garden. But you need to choose the right seeds. In 2026, there are a lot of different varieties in stores, and not all are suitable for indoor soil. The author of the Zen channel “Organic Farmer” (12+) compiled a rating of the seven best greenhouse hybrids, based on data from the State Register of the Russian Federation and the experience of ordinary gardeners.

Herman F1

Dutch hybrid, which is very popular in Russia. It is ultra-early: the first harvest is harvested in 43–48 days. The fruits weigh 70–90 grams, the yield reaches 9–11 kilograms per square. Up to seven cucumbers are tied in each knot. Herman is not afraid of stress and illness, and his greens are good both fresh and pickled.

Meringue F1

Ripens even faster: in 40–45 days. The fruits are larger, 75–100 grams, and the yield is higher: 10–12 kilograms per meter. Meringue never tastes bitter. It easily tolerates cold snaps and dense plantings, which is important when the greenhouse is small.

Courage F1

Russian powerful hybrid, bred specifically for greenhouses. Ripens in 44–48 days, the fruits weigh 120–180 grams, and the yield reaches 16 kilograms per square meter. From two to six cucumbers are tied in knots. Courage is not afraid of root rot and tolerates shading. With good care it can bear fruit until autumn.

Zozulya F1

Partially parthenocarpic, ripens in 45–50 days. The fruits are large, 150–300 grams, the yield is very decent (10–16 kilograms per meter). Zozulya is cold-resistant and grows well in low light conditions, so it is often planted early in unheated greenhouses.

Maryina Roshcha F1

A hybrid with bunch fruiting (3–4 ovaries per node) and excellent pickling qualities. Ripens in 45–50 days, cucumbers weigh 90–110 grams. Productivity is 12–14 kilograms per meter. Maryina Roshcha almost does not suffer from powdery mildew and cladosporiosis, which is a huge plus in a damp greenhouse.

Ant F1

An ultra-early hybrid that produces the first harvest in 37–39 days. The bush is compact, so Ant is ideal for small greenhouses. The fruits weigh 90–110 grams, the yield is up to 12 kilograms per square. Cucumbers are versatile, tasty both in salads and in jars.

April F1

Another good old classic. Partially parthenocarpic, ripens in 45–50 days. The fruits are large, 200–250 grams, the yield reaches 13–15 kilograms per meter. The hybrid was specially bred for cold regions: it sets fruit even at 12–14 degrees Celsius.
