In Russia, scammers have come up with a scheme to deceive summer residents

New fraud schemes have emerged in Russia, targeting owners of suburban areas, TASS reports with reference to “News».
The fraud scheme is associated with increased liability for the condition of personal plots, the lighting of fires and the lack of weed control. Attackers send fake messages to summer residents saying that an inspection has revealed violations.
The scammers send their victims a link supposedly to a government services portal in order to pay the fine at a discount. After this, the attackers begin calling the summer resident’s phone according to the usual pattern with “burglary» account.
Data on summer residents, the source suggests, could get to the attackers as a result of a leak from the database of the Unified State Register of Real Estate. Rosreestr officially denied information about the hack.
