The Krasnoyarsk Territory took second place in Siberia in terms of the volume of cash in circulation among the population at the end of 2025. As the news agency IrkutskMedia writes with reference to the annual report of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, the first place went to the Novosibirsk region, and the Irkutsk region closed the top three.
In total, over the past year in the Siberian Federal District, the amount of cash received amounted to more than 5.3 trillion rubles, which is 7.24% less than in 2024. Cash issuance also decreased – from 5.62 to 5.34 trillion rubles.
In 2025, the Krasnoyarsk Territory received 852.2 billion rubles in cash (-7.28% compared to last year), and residents of the region received 917.3 billion (-3.87%). The Central Bank noted that in 2024, the population more often preferred to keep savings in cash.
