Madyar said that Netanyahu would be arrested if he came to Hungary

According to Madyar, Hungary will continue to remain a member of the ICC, which means it will be obliged to comply with its orders.

“If someone is wanted by the International Criminal Court and such a person enters the territory of our country, then he must be detained,” he emphasized.

Politico notes that Hungary previously refused to arrest Netanyahu during his visit to Budapest in April 2025, when Viktor Orban was prime minister. Before the meeting, Orban announced that Hungary would withdraw from the International Criminal Court (a process that takes about a year) and guaranteed Netanyahu immunity.
