LAST HOUR Strong explosion in the west of Bucharest. Fire at CET West

A strong explosion was heard on Monday evening in the west of the Capital. The authorities announce that a fire broke out at the CET West thermal power plant.

“We are intervening to extinguish a fire in the premises of CET West, in the Capital. When the first crews arrived, the fire manifested itself with an open flame at two electrical transformers”, ISU Bucharest reported.

So far, no victims have been registered, the authorities say.

“We intervene with 7 water and foam extinguishing vehicles, a nitrogen extinguishing vehicle, a height intervention and rescue vehicle, an extrication vehicle and two SMURD crews”, states ISU.
