Olguţa Vasilescu, about those who demonstrated in support of Bolojan: Did these people vote for us so that we would be interested in their opinion?

The mayor of Craiova, Lia Olguţa Vasilescu (PSD), claims that the social democrats did not receive the votes of those who came out on Monday evening in Piaţa Victoriei to show their support for Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, after PSD announced that it was withdrawing the political support granted to the Prime Minister.

“I mean, what should we do, be afraid of their demonstrations and go back to the government or something, because I don't understand? Do you see that it's a comedy? What should we interpret? There are some people who cursed us all the time, for years, and now they're taking to the streets to ask why the PSD is leaving the government. That they can no longer stay with Ilie Bolojan, simple! These people voted for us, so that we what is their opinion about the PSD's political behavior? No! And then…”, said Lia Olguţa Vasilescu, on Monday evening, when asked if she was afraid of a wave of protests that would affect the PSD's image.
She also said that those who are demonstrating now to “call” PSD to the government are the same ones who demonstrated against PSD in the past, mocking them.
“I mean, what are they going to do to us? I understand that they are now in the streets to call the Social Democratic Party back to government. Before they were in the streets to take us down. I mean, who understands what those from the Resist movement want,” added Lia Olguța Vasilescu.
The PSD representative recalled that in the past, Piaţa Victoriei was full not only of protestors, but also of PSD supporters.
Hundreds of people gathered on Monday evening in Piaţa Victoriei, in front of the Government headquarters, to express their support for Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, in the context of the PSD internal vote aimed at renouncing the support that the social democrats gave to the Government led by the PNL president. Former Minister of Transport Radu Berceanu was booed, being removed from the market by gendarmes.
