Trump's sharp interview in NBC: peace in Ukraine, conquest of Greenland and the issue of Canada

US President Donald Trump said in an interview at NBC on Sunday that one of the parties is closer to the agreement on the end of the war in Ukraine than the second. Trump also did not rule out that he can use force to take Greenland, although he cannot imagine such a scenario in the case of Canada.

Trump said in an interview that he still hopes that he would be able to lead to a peace agreement. A few sentences later admitted, however, that this may not be possible at all.
“I think that we are closer to one of the sides and maybe not so close to the other. I would not like to say which we are closer to, but we did a business for Americans. It was good. We were able to get the metals of rare lands,” said Trump, pointing to the signed raw material agreement with Ukraine.
Trump refused to set a deadline when the parties must communicate, but said that the moment could come when he would withdraw from their efforts for peace.
“There will come a time when I say: +okay, go on, keep stupid +” – said Trump. However, he stated that 5,000 die in the war every week. soldiers and he would like to save their lives. The president admitted that “this may not be possible”.
“We are talking about great hatred between these two men, between some soldiers and to be honest, between generals,” said the American president. He refused to answer the question of what he would do about the support of Ukraine if he has moved away from mediation. In recent days, the US has given permission to sell Ukraine modernization sets and parts for F-16 fighters, and according to the New York Times, the transfer of the renovated American Patriot system from Israel to Ukraine is being prepared.
Trump will conquer Greenland?
In a 46-minute interview, Trump also raised many other issues, including his ambitions to connect Greenland. He repeated his earlier words, not excluding the use of force.
“Something can happen with Greenland, I will be honest. We need it for national and international security,” he noted. At the same time, he admitted that he could not imagine a similar possibility in the case of Canada, although he suggested that he would continue to join it. He again described the boundaries with Canada as an artificial line, he said that without it “we would have a beautiful country”, and unreasonably claimed that America “subsidizes” Canada with the amount of $ 200 billion a year.
Another attack on Powell
Trump once again criticized the president of the Federal Reserve Jerome Powell, calling him to lower interest rates. He claimed that Powell did not want to do it not because of the economic conditions, but because he did not like Trump, because Trump considers him a “total stiff”.
“I would like people who are on the board (Fed) to lead him to reduce because it is the perfect time,” said the president.
Economy, customs and … the Constitution
He sold the fears of Americans about the increase in prices related to raising his duties, he claimed that the increase in prices of prams or tires would be “pennies” compared to a reduction in energy prices.
“I don't think a beautiful girl who is 11 years old needs 30 dolls. I think she can have three dolls or four dolls (…). She doesn't need 250 pencils, he can have five” – he added.
When asked about the state of the economy and to what extent he is responsible for him, Trump said that he was responsible for good parts of the economy, and his predecessor Joe Biden – his predecessor.
The most commented part of the interview in NBC was his answer to the question of the leading Kristen Welker, or He should guard the constitution, as he undertook at the presidential oath. He replied twice that “he doesn't know because he is not a lawyer”. The question concerned the guarantee of the constitutional right to an honest trial for illegal immigrants excreted from the country, including those placed in the Salvador prison.
Trump emphasized that he would continue to spend immigrants from the country and cannot imagine that the courts will be allowed to hear “millions of cases” of such people, and he needs a full mandate to quickly get rid of the country of people who are “murderers and drug dealers”. “I was chosen to do the hell from here, and the courts make it difficult for me to do it,” said the president.
Asked if in this situation he was still obliged to comply with the constitution, he said that he did not know, and added that “brilliant lawyers work for him, who of course would adapt to the opinion of the Supreme Court.”
Contrary to their earlier words Trump assured that “he doesn't think about it” to strive for another term And he assured that he wanted to serve only eight years, and then pass the heirloom to another Republican. He noted, however, that many of his supporters ask him to start in the next election and stated that he did not know if the constitution would forbid him. 22. Amendment to the constitution says that the president can only be elected for two terms.
Trump also refused to answer the question directly who would be his successor, indicating that “he did not want to engage in it. However, he announced that JD Vance” does a fantastic job “, and as a vice president he would have a facilitated start in the election. But he also mentioned that Marco Rubio” is great. “
