On April 20 at 12:30, the House of Cinema (88 Mira Ave.) invites you to a creative meeting with Ilya Kuznetsov, a guide to non-tourist Krasnoyarsk, and a film screening of the film “Krasnoyarsk – Like Illusions,” where five short stories tell amazing stories about the city.
“Krasnoyarsk is almost 400 years old, but despite such a young age, it is being transformed every day: spaces are being improved, the appearance of the main streets is preserved, along which adults and children walk on warm summer days. The city center is a magnet, and monuments and ancient buildings decorate its streets and squares. They remind you that history was born here,” said the organizers of the show.
Certified tour guide Ilya Kuznetsov, author of the TG channel “Guide in a Non-Tourist City” and finalist of the regional competition “Save the Heritage” 2025 in the category “Best Practice in the Field of Creative Industries in Heritage” will talk about the past and the oldest cinema “House of Cinema”.
The House of Cinema team and the Shishka.Media studio shot the film “Krasnoyarsk – Like Illusions” in 2022, in which the characters share myths and stories about what makes the city home to us.
The short story “Gold of Siberia”, stylized as a silent film comedy, covers the period of the gold rush in the Krasnoyarsk region, and “Olympia” is a fantasy about the life of the young Swiss governess Olympia Rittener in the house of gold miner Kuznetsov at the turn of the 19th century. In the short story “Cinematograph” there will be a dialogue between the revived Madonna from the facade of the cinema and the director about the love of cinema.
“Margarita” is an almost detective sketch about a descendant of the Gadalovs, Margarita Bodrova, who flew in to restore family history. “On the Way to Sakhalin” is a hooligan time travel with an interpretation of Chekhov from Krasnoyarsk blogger Vasily Prokushev: his hero wanders through modern streets, comparing them with the city a hundred years ago.
Our event will reveal our hometown from a new side: it will highlight the periods of life of people who developed industry, created art and shaped cultural heritage. You will learn new facts about Krasnoyarsk, see familiar places in a historical context and feel the contribution of residents to its development.
Admission with free tickets, which can be purchased at the cinema box office.
