Hermannstadt won the case opened at FIFA against Estrela Amadora, after the Lusitanian team did not respect the financial obligations assumed in the transfer of Ianis Stoica.
Last summer, the Romanian was sold to Portugal for 1.3 million euros, an amount that was to be paid in three installments, in the most important transaction in the history of the Sibiu club, which is now in a fierce fight to avoid relegation.
Estrela Amadora, good for payment!
Although the terms of the contract were clear, Estrela Amadora did not even pay the first installment, despite notices from the Superliga club officials. Under these conditions, the Sibiu appealed to FIFA.
After a process that lasted five months, the international forum ruled in favor of the Romanian club. Hermannstadt was announced the other day that it won the case, and the Lusitanian group must now pay the outstanding amounts, notes oradesibiu.ro.
If they do not comply, the Lusitanians from Estrela risk important sanctions, including the ban on making any more transfers. Such a punishment would seriously hurt the Portuguese club, known for its reliance on mercato revenue.
At the same time, Amadora is going through a difficult financial period and has entered a reorganization procedure to avoid bankruptcy. According to the agreement between the two clubs, the entire amount of 1.3 million euros had to be paid by August 2026.
In January, the Sibiu shareholder, Claudiu Rotar, confirmed the approach made to FIFA: “We gave it to FIFA, we are waiting for the answer to come and to collect the money.”

In the current season, Ianis Stoica was a constant starter at Estrela, scoring two goals and two decisive assists, the last offensive contributions dating precisely on December 7, 2025: two assists with Arouca.
