Timisoara receives good news. The new “Dan Păltinișanu” stadium has a designated builder, according to the announcement made by the local authorities this week. If there are no appeals, the winner of the auction can let go of the work. The arena in the west of the country is to amount to over 160 million euros.
In the middle of February, Timișoara broke up with the legendary arena through a great event, before demolition, over 2,000 supporters coming to say goodbye to the stadium.
Two months later, the builder of the new arena will be appointed to be ready in about two years from the moment the building operations will effectively start.

“The Dan Păltinișanu stadium has a designated builder! The procedures for establishing the winner of the design and construction tender of the Dan Păltinșanu stadium have ended and, if there are no appeals, the company can get to work.
The design, according to the specification, will take 8 months, and the effective construction of the most modern arena in Romania is estimated at 24 months. The Dan Păltinișanu stadium will have 32,000 seats, and the stands will be covered.
The up-to-date situation of the process of demolishing the legendary Timisoara Stadium is present because the works are advancing at a good pace, the estimates of the company that performs the demolition being that the grounding of the arena will be completed before the deadline stipulated in the contract, ie 8 months. The legendary “Dan Păltinișanu” arena is to be demolished and replaced with one to the most modern standards. The stadium in Timișoara will have 32,000 places, the second largest in Romania, after the National Arena. He will not have a track of athletics, being specially created for football.
The new “Dan Păltinișanu” will be ready in about 2 and a half years and will cost almost 167 million euros, money provided by the CNI and the Timiş County Council.
