Dozens of policemen and gendarmes are participating in the extensive search operation, which takes place in the town of Senereus, located approximately 30 km from Târgu Mureș.
According to the sources, the search was started after a person from the locality called 112 and alerted the authorities that he saw a man who he believed could be Emil Gânj.
We remind you that, in October last year, a prosecutor from the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Mureș Court ordered Emil Gânj to be sent to court, in absentia and under preventive arrest, accused of qualified murder (with premeditation and recidivism), but also of destruction, desecration of corpses, domestic violence and violation of the protection order.
According to the investigators, on July 8, the man violated the order issued in favor of the victim, armed himself with an ax and went to her home. There, he destroyed several windows and the entrance door, entered the house illegally and hit the victim in the head with the ax several times, causing her death. Later, the man sprinkled the victim's body with a flammable substance and set it on fire. The fire spread to other goods in the premises of the building with the risk of spreading to other goods in the respective yard and to the neighboring building, states the cited source.
