Lyceum No. 2 of the Central District became the venue for the festival of theatrical productions “One Country – Thousands of Stories.” The event is timed to coincide with the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, declared by the President of the Russian Federation in 2026.
During the week, students from grades 1 to 11 present mini-performances to the audience and jury dedicated to the culture, traditions and folklore of the peoples of Russia. In total, 32 classes are participating in the festival: each, based on the results of a draw, chose one of the nations for stage embodiment.
Preparations took several weeks: schoolchildren, together with their parents, learned songs and dances, prepared costumes and props, and also studied the features of the chosen culture.
“It was a joint creative process – together with the children we came up with a script and assigned roles. Such events bring children, teachers and parents very close,” said the mother of one of the lyceum students, festival participant Olga Malakhovskaya.
During the festival, the assembly hall of the lyceum turned into a platform where you can get acquainted with national traditions, languages and customs. Participants offer viewers a unique journey – from the peoples of the Caucasus and Crimea to Siberia and the Far East.
“It is important for us that children understand: we live in a large multinational country, and its main wealth is the interaction of different peoples,” noted Lavra Tretyakova, deputy director for educational work at Lyceum No. 2.
However, it is worth noting that the event started long before the first performances. So, a few days ago, the exhibition “National Plate” opened in the school museum, where each class presented a painted dish in the traditions of the chosen people. The lyceum students tried to accurately convey the colors, ornaments and symbols.
In addition, an exhibition of theater posters was placed on the first floor of the lyceum. The works not only announce performances, but also introduce the peculiarities of national costume, life and folklore.
The schoolchildren themselves admit that participation in the festival was a new experience for them:
“My class and I inherited Russian culture. We approached this very responsibly: we prepared costumes, learned the song. It was something new for me – I hadn’t even heard it before,” shared 8B grade student Anna Martirosova.
Let us remind you that representatives of 130 nationalities live in Krasnoyarsk. Each with its own cultural and linguistic characteristics. The event takes place within the framework of the municipal program “Promoting the development of civil society in the city of Krasnoyarsk”, its goal is to help people of different nationalities and religions respect each other and live in harmony.
