In the Shushensky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the court sentenced the former director of the forestry for bribes and abuse of power.

The press service of the regional prosecutor's office recalled that in December 2021, the convict, being the director of the Sayano-Shushenskoye forestry, accepted a Toyota 4Runner SUV from the logger as a bribe. For this, he promised general protection, the allocation of cutting areas with valuable pine, the acceleration of procedures and the concealment of illegal logging. In April 2024 he received a bribe from the same logger and his friend in the form of painting and repairing a car for 110 thousand rubles.

“In August 2024, having learned about illegal logging by a friend, the director ordered his subordinates to move the quarter post in order to cover up the traces of the crime and avoid their own responsibility. Under house arrest, the accused admitted guilt and entered into a pre-trial agreement with the prosecutor. The bribers who surrendered him voluntarily escaped punishment,” the prosecutor’s office said.

In the Shushensky district, the ex-director of the forestry received 4.5 years in prison for bribes and abuse of power
