“Fidesz has serious reasons for concern.” What the Hungarian press says about the record turnout in the elections

In the first five hours of the parliamentary elections in Hungary that take place on Sunday, a record turnout was recorded, at 11:00 a.m. it was almost one and a half times higher than four years ago.
If we analyze the data by types of localities, both the attendance at 9 o'clock and at 11 o'clock increased the most in cities and the least in small communes, notes the publication 444.hu.
The data for the 11th hour also show that electoral participation was the highest in cities and county seat municipalities and the lowest in small communes.
This evolution is very different from that of 2022, when the electoral activity in small communes recorded the second highest value.
“Fidesz has serious reasons for concern”
If we start from the party preferences in each type of locality, then Fidesz has serious reasons for concern, notes the independent Hungarian publication
According to the data published by Medián a few days ago, in the municipalities Tisza has an advantage (expressed in percentages of 52:27 over Fidesz), while in the countryside the opposition party leads with 41:35.
In the capital Budapest, Tisza's advantage is the biggest, with a ratio of 54:25 being recorded there.
In other words, electoral activity is highest where support for Fidesz is lowest, and lowest where the ruling party is in the best position, writes 444.hu.
