When AUR wants to file a motion of censure. What does the number 2 in the party say when asked if they expect PSD to support them

The leader of the AUR senators, Petrisor Peiu, says that the party is determined to submit a motion of censure against the Bolojan Government in every parliamentary session, and in the current session, this step will probably be taken in May, after the official data on the state of the economy will be announced.

“Now, as a matter of principle, during Holy Week I don't really think it's normal to make no-confidence motions. I personally announced and talked to my colleagues that it would be very interesting to have this no-confidence motion debate somewhere on May 13 or after, on the day when we will officially have the third quarter of economic decline, that is, already a full-blown crisis. Because then the National Institute of Statistics will officially announce the result for the first quarter. Now, the result is anticipated, that all the indicators that make up this global economic growth indicator look very bad for Romania's economy in the first quarter”, said Petrisor Peiu on Saturday, on Prima Tv, according to News.ro.

Asked if he expected the social democrats to support the AUR motion, he replied: “I don't know what to say.”

The AUR representative is of the opinion that the PSD can file its own censure motion, recalling that, in the past, the PSD overthrew the Government led, at that time, by Sorin Grindeanu, the current president of the party, through a motion in the Parliament.

“My opinion is that they are negotiating. (…) The appointment of the heads of the prosecutor's offices, respectively the heads of the two intelligence services, SRI and SIE. And I think that the PSD is somehow a part of this division. I think that they don't even conceive of not getting it. (…) They definitely want something here,” said the AUR parliamentarian, who believes that the social democrats “had other expectations from the coalition they formed” and “imagined that they would have a greater role pregnant”.

“Grindeanu has escalated the level of the conflict far too much and now it is difficult to get out”

Senator AUR believes that PSD does not want to leave the government, but only wants the change of Ilie Bolojan from the head of the Government.

Peiu believes that the PSD leader, Sorin Grindeanu, “escalated the level of the conflict much too much and now it is difficult to get out of a conflict that you yourself have escalated so much”:

“PSD does not even propose to go into opposition, PSD, at least declaratively, would propose to get rid of Bolojan, to keep the same coalition. Now, it is hard to believe that the liberals or the USR-ists will easily get over the fact that the PSD-ists would take down Bolojan. They could very well say: “OK, but next year, when it's your turn, we won't vote for your Grindeanu either.” So I think it is rather an overbidding in order to obtain some issues now, I don't know what they are negotiating about these appointments (at the head of the intelligence services – no), or probably other appointments as well, only that Mr. Grindeanu jumped too much, he escalated the level of the conflict much too much and now it is difficult to get out of a conflict that you yourself have escalated so much. Bolojan, and he, in turn, and the USR-ists put straws on the fire, escalated and said that's it, we're not giving up a step. And it's a dysfunctional coalition”.
