At least four people died and 15 others were injured after Russia attacked the Kiev region with drones and missiles on the night of Saturday to Sunday. Blocks of houses and a student dormitory were also hit, reports Reuters.
The Ukrainian capital and the Kiev region were hit by ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as a large number of attack drones, according to Ukrainska Pravda.
The attacks targeted residential buildings, educational institutions, businesses and critical infrastructure facilities in four districts of the Kyiv region, said Mikola Kalashnyk, head of the regional military administration.
Information about the damage continues to arrive, and the number of victims is increasing, Mikola Kalashnyk said.
Polish armed forces raised the planes
Following the attacks, Polish and allied aircraft were grounded early Saturday to ensure the safety of Polish airspace, the Polish military said.
No violation of Polish airspace was observed, the armed forces' operational command later said in a separate post on X.
