Mirel Rădoi announced the big change made during the competitive break at FCSB

Mirel Rădoi (45 years old), the FCSB coach, held the press conference prior to the match with FC Botoșani, from the 3rd stage of the play-out. The technician talked about the time he had at his disposal during this competitive break and the details he worked on with his students.

  • FC Botoșani – FCSB will be played on Friday evening, April 3, from 20:30. The match will be broadcast in liveTEXT format on GSP.ro and on TV on Prima Sport 1 and Digi Sport 1

He admitted that he would have liked to have more players at his disposal during this break, but is optimistic before the championship resumes. With 4 points out of 6 possible after the first two stages, Rădoi also raised an alarm, explaining how important each point is in the play-out.

Mirel Rădoi: “We tried to set up the defensive pressure”

“We are facing a much more open opponent, who plays more organized on the defensive side, since Marius came in. They were more compact before, with more transitions, but now there are different principles, a team with a very good dynamic.

In the last match there was an away score, it should have been more balanced. We prepared very well with the players we had, we have some problems with some players and we will see what the medical department will solve.

We have tried to strengthen and improve some things, at the level of intensity of the game and with the ball and without the ball, especially putting more defensive pressure on the opponent when the opponents have the ball. We continue to give them space and time to think too much, to look, to look, that's what we focused on the most at the moment, on the defensive organization, the ball carrier to have pressure.

Then everything else, positional attack, much better dynamics. We also tried to work on getting the ball out of the defense zone faster. I hope we've made them realistic about what's to come, points are more important than in the play-offs here, that it's not round-robin, and if you lose three games you go from 7th to 10th immediately.

FCSB had the most players called to the squads, the degree of fatigue increased, we could not play some things with them, there are other elements that must be followed.

We tried to talk as quickly as possible with the players who were at the national teams, were in contact with the auxiliary staff, to arrive as quickly as possible, to get their plane tickets. There were days when we wanted to do two trainings, there are issues that we discuss from training to training.

We don't think about summer things. Punctual I do not dare to make assessments now, they could be wrong. As time goes by, for us, the staff, it is an advantage, that we see more players, and for them that they get used to us. The more time passes, the easier it will be to make an evaluation and a report”, said Mirel Rădoi, at the conference before the match with FC Botoșani.

Nice, he's an interesting player, I know, I had a good relationship with him, very interesting player. But I found something for him at the national team, in 2019, where he was injured, I told him that I like that he is selfish, that he is a striker, but his dose of selfishness is higher than two strikers together. He has only one flaw, he is too selfish, otherwise no one can dispute his qualities. When it is given continuity it can make a difference. He is a player that I like, he can go in any system on the left side or central striker.
