Fuel prices for the holidays. On Friday it will be more expensive, especially diesel

Every day, Donald Trump provides drivers, including those in Poland, with new experiences. On Thursday, these are negative experiences after a rather positive Wednesday. The words of the US president in his speech clearly showed that the withdrawal of American armed forces from attempts to destroy Iran's military power was out of the question, although a day earlier it might have seemed so and Trump's words gave rise to hope for an upcoming peace solution.
In reaction to the speech, the market revised oil prices significantly upwards. European grade Brent is more expensive by as much as 7.6%. to almost $109. per barrel. In this way, prices approached the local maximum, i.e. almost $120, which Brent crude oil reached on the last day of March.
To make matters worse for Polish drivers, the zloty also weakenedwhich only increases fuel prices in Poland. The zloty falls against the dollar by 0.7%. up to PLN 3.7219.
Fuel prices in Poland before Christmas. Better to refuel on Thursday. Especially diesel
All this will translate into fuel prices. But not on Thursday yet. On Thursday, Orlen even lowered wholesale prices compared to Wednesday and sells Pb95 gasoline for PLN 5.43 per liter, i.e. half a penny cheaper without VAT, and Ekodiesel for PLN 6.77, i.e. 1 grosz cheaper than on Wednesday. The rebound in oil prices and the weaker zloty will change this situation from Friday, and this is almost certain.
As Orlen recently told us, wholesale prices are adjusted to the diesel and gasoline indexes. But this happens with a daily delay. And it so happened that after the US President's speech, April diesel futures contracts in London went up by 12.2% on Thursday. up to $1.50 per liter, although oil prices are below 8%. But Orlen has not yet reacted wholesale to it.

Gasoline is also becoming more expensive on international markets, but “only” by 6.7%. As in recent weeks, users of diesel cars will benefit more from the entire truck transport than drivers of petrol cars.
Will Orlen's promotion save drivers?
As a result, we can also expect prices at gas stations to rebound upwards. That is, with the exception of Orlen stations, which applies a discount for Vitay card holders on weekends until the weekend of April 30 – May 3. You can buy within it on each of eight weekends, up to 50 liters of fuel 20 groszy cheaper per liter or by 35 groszy if you buy something other than fuel at the station for at least PLN 5.
So it may be cheaper there on Friday compared to Thursday. However, it all depends on how strongly Orlen will react to Thursday's changes in oil prices and the zloty exchange rate at wholesale prices. We will find out about it on Friday morning.
