Son of Sergei Sokol, Alexander was appointed deputy head of Divnogorsk. Information about this appeared on the city administration website.
It is known that Alexander Sokol was born in Moscow and graduated from MGIMO. Previously he worked as an assistant to a State Duma deputy, then served as an assistant to the head of Sosnovoborsk. In October 2025, he was appointed first deputy head of the Berezovsky district.
His father, Sergei Sokol, was deputy to the head of the region, Alexander Khloponin, from 2002 to 2008. Later he worked as deputy governor of the Irkutsk region and served as head of the region. He was the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Irkutsk Region. In 2020, he became a deputy of the State Duma of the 7th convocation from the United Russia party.
In 2023, he ran for the post of head of Khakassia, but withdrew his candidacy for health reasons. In September of the same year, he left the State Duma ahead of schedule to head the Supreme Council of Khakassia.
