Florin Prunea recalled a delicate episode from the time when he was president of Poli Iași, explaining how he reacted when he came into possession of a controversial video with one of the team's players.

It is about Ionuț Panțiru, who, more than seven years ago, came to the attention of the public after the appearance of a compromising clip. The footballer was filmed while having intimate relations with another man. Although the images were censored, the footballer's identity was quickly discovered.
The situation had serious consequences for his career, especially since at that time he was wanted by Gigi Becali at FCSB, and the transfer was called into question.

Prunea said his reaction was one of surprise when he saw the footage and hinted that the footage had been leaked from within the team, most likely by someone close to the player.
“I took Panțiru from Miroslava, I paid 10,000 euros for him. I don't remember the video chat anymore, I was about to fall under the chair when they brought me the movie! I got along with everyone, I argued with everyone: «It's not true!».
