Iranian attack on a port in Oman, which was “immediately” evacuated

The Danish shipping company Maersk announced on Saturday that the port of Salalah in the Sultanate of Oman, affected during the day by a drone attack, was “immediately” evacuated and that its operations were suspended for 48 hours, reports AFP.
The sultanate's authorities had previously stated that the attack injured a worker and caused minor damage at this port, one of the most important in the country.

The port is managed by a subsidiary of Maersk, APM Terminals. It had already been affected since the beginning of the conflict in the Middle East and had also had to suspend its operations.
The Iranian military announced on Saturday that it had attacked a US logistics ship near the port of Salalah, one of the main ports in the Sultanate of Oman.
“A logistics ship supporting the aggressive US military was targeted by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran at a considerable distance from the Omani port of Salalah,” Ebrahim Zolfaghari, a spokesman for Iran's Central Military Command, said in a statement broadcast on state television.
