USR President Elena Lasconi sent a last campaign message to the voters, in the context of the scandal related to the photos in which Nicușor Dan, Victor Ponta and Florian Coldea would appear. Lasconi claims that he was “publicly crucified” just because he asked for explanations, without giving any verdict. Lasconi asks the Romanians that Sunday should not be manipulated by “digital tribes”.
“Dear Romanian, Sunday is about you. About the courage to think with your head. About the refusal to be manipulated by digital tribes. About leaving the pixel terror and returning to human dignity. I have nothing to lose. But you have everything to win. And algorithms.

The USR leadership claims that she is the victim of a media lining because of the photos she published, claiming that she was just limited to asking for explanations from those who appear in those images.
“I was made a liar, wicked, bad, diabolical, desperate, even crazy. They turned me into a grotesque character, invented by a deep hatred. What I did, in fact? I posted some photos after I was able and checked as much as I could in a short time, with the good faith. It is a gesture of transparency, responsibility. And instead, what did I get? I was publicly crucified, offended, humiliated, naked by any human dignity, ”says Lasconi.

She claims that she was insulted including by colleagues from the USR, although “I took the party on my shoulders” at the elections from the end of last year.
“What happened if these photos were about me? If I were in a picture with Florian Coldea? With Victor Ponta? Would everyone scream about the” parallel state “, about conspiracies, about betrayal. But it seems we are not all treated the same. When it comes to some, everything is suddenly unclear, ambiguous, irrelevant. The double measure has reached a sinister level. I fought with a system, but I never imagined that the most toxic system can be the one who claims to be saving. But I don't regret it. Because I told the truth. Because I did not surrender the system even in the hardest moments.
Lasconi says he will not apologize, even if the truth “is buried in the Glod and in public shame.”
“Romania will not be saved by those who give themselves saints, but ignore the law. It will not be changed by those who preach morally, but eat the bread of the system in secret.

“Scandal of photos”
Elena Lasconi distributed on Thursday night, on Facebook, a series of images that suggest showing Nicușor Dan, Victor Ponta and Florian Coldea.
“In the spirit of truth, I think we all need some explanations for these photos,” Lasconi wrote in the description that accompanies the images. “
Nicușor Dan initially reacted on Facebook and claimed that this is “a gross fake”. “The pictures that Elena Lasconi posted are a gross false. This alleged meeting has never taken place,” said the mayor in a short reaction.
A reaction was also Victor Ponta, who announced criminal complaints against Elena Lasconi and Antena 3. In a press conference on Friday, Victor Ponta claimed that all this “misery” was developed, built by Bogdan Popescu and Kensington, who works with Crin Antonescu.
Also on Friday, the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) established that the posting of Elena Lasconi, in which she published the four photos with Nicușor Dan, Victor Ponta and Florian Coldea, should not be deleted. The decision came after a referral made by Nicușor Dan.
