Data leak from the EU cloud? Hackers broke into the Europa platform

The European Commission announced on Friday that on March 24 there was a cyber attack targeting its cloud infrastructure supporting the Europa online platform. Preliminary findings indicate that data could have been obtained from the attacked websites.

However, the EC noted that the incident was quickly brought under control and its full scope remains the subject of further investigation.

“Internal systems were not affected by the cyber attack,” the EC press release emphasized. The perpetrators or group responsible for the attack have not yet been identified. (PAP)
