The chief director of the Krasnoyarsk Youth Theater became a laureate of the Presidential Prize of the Russian Federation

The names of the Presidential Prize laureates were announced in Moscow, including the chief director of the Krasnoyarsk Theater for Young Spectators, Murat Abulkatinov. He received an award for his contribution to the preservation and development of the traditions of Russian theater and cinema, according to information on the official website of the head of state.
Murat Abulkatinov has been at the Krasnoyarsk Youth Theater since June 2024, at the same time he is a teacher at the directing department of GITIS (workshop of A. Koruchekov). By the age of 34, Abulkatinov had staged more than 20 performances in Russian theaters. His productions were presented in the out-of-competition programs “Mask Plus” and “Children’s Weekend” of the National Theater Festival-Award “Golden Mask”, at the Festival of Young Directors “Artmigration for Children”, the Big Children’s Festival, and the Volodin Festival “Five Evenings”.
The director is a laureate of the Festival of Theaters of Small Towns of Russia in the “Hope” category with the play “Do Whatever You Want While I Love You” by the Prokopyevsky Theater (Magnitogorsk 2023), winner of a diploma from the Association of Theater Critics of the Film Literature Festival with the play “July Rain” (theatre aZ9, Omsk, 2023), laureate of the Moscow “Art Prize” for performance “Tahir and Zukhra” at the Shalom Theater. This performance was also included in the long list of the National Theater Festival-Award “Golden Mask” (2023).
Staged at the Krasnoyarsk Youth Theater, the sentimental tragedy “Eugene Onegin” based on the novel in verse by Alexander Pushkin received the Grand Prix of the XXI All-Russian festival of theatrical art for children “Harlequin” (St. Petersburg, 2024) and won in the category “Best premiere of the season in a drama theater” according to the results of the Regional festival “Theatrical Spring – 2024″ (Krasnoyarsk).
Besides Murat Abulkatinovaprizes were awarded to Vladislav Miller, drama artist of the Moscow Theater of Oleg Tabakov, for his contribution to the preservation and development of the traditions of Russian theater and cinema, as well as artists Igor Morozov, Alina Chertash and Polina Shabunina for performing the main roles in Sergei Prokofiev’s opera Semyon Kotko, staged on the stage of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater of Russia. The award ceremony will take place today, March 25, in the Kremlin.
Let us remember that the prize for young cultural figures was established in 2011. It is awarded to citizens under the age of 35 for the creation of works and implementation of projects that make a significant contribution to the culture of Russia. Every year in the Russian Federation 3 such prizes are awarded in the amount of 5 million rubles each.
