In the Ilan-Nizhneingashsky district, police revealed facts of illegal export of lumber abroad. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region spoke about this.

During operational search activities, law enforcement officers, together with employees of the Krasnoyarsk customs, found out that a 65-year-old resident of the Ilansko-Nizhneingash municipal district and his acquaintance, a 42-year-old businessman, were engaged in illegal logging of forest plantations and their legalization by concluding purchase and sale agreements.

According to the police, the men provided false information about the origin of the lumber, after which they sent it to one of the countries in Central Asia.

“Of the 214.09 cubic meters of wood removed, the suspects owned 165.97 cubic meters. Thus, the sale of at least 48.12 cubic meters of lumber worth 240,600 rubles has been proven,” explained the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Based on this fact, specialists of the Krasnoyarsk customs office opened a criminal case under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art. 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (smuggling of strategically important goods by a group of persons by prior conspiracy). Now the attackers face up to 10 years in prison with a fine of up to 1 million rubles.
