“We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Leo Radwinsky. Leo passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer,” the company said in a statement.
The entrepreneur was born in Odessa, moved to the United States as a child and grew up in Chicago. He was also known for investing in technology projects, including in the adult content industry.
Radvinsky acquired the business in 2018 and remained its major shareholder and director. Under his leadership, OnlyFans has grown into one of the UK's most profitable and controversial tech companies. The platform has built a model in which content authors receive 80% of the income, and the service retains 20%.
According to the company, more than $25 billion has been paid out to creators since its launch in 2016. Last year, the platform's revenue was $7.2 billion. Radvinsky himself reportedly received one of the largest dividends among private companies in the UK.
After Radvinsky's death, the future of the company and a possible deal to sell a stake in the business remain uncertain. According to sources, negotiations with investors were complicated by his illness, and since 2024 his shares have been held in a trust.
