The Red Plan was activated after a bus with 44 passengers overturned at the border of Galati and Vaslui counties. One dead and 14 injured
The authorities of Galați county activated, on Saturday morning, Red Intervention Plans, after a serious accident occurred on the European Road E581, on the border with Vaslui county. A bus from the Republic of Moldova, traveling on the route Chisinau – Bucharest overturned outside the roadway. One man died and 14 others were injured.
UPDATE The Red Intervention Plans have been disabled.
“Final balance: 14 victims, conscious, transported to the hospital; one person died. The other people involved in the event will be transported by ISU minibuses to a nearby location, in order to be picked up by another bus and continue to the destination. The Red Intervention Plans have been disabled,” transmitted ISU Galati.

The tragedy took place between the towns of Priponești and Tutova.
The call to 112 was registered at 04:04, according to the Galati Police Inspectorate.
The first checks show that the coach, in which there were 44 passengers, left the road in a straight road sector, where the shoulder is approximately two meters below the level of the roadway. The vehicle overturned and the impact had dramatic consequences.

A 62-year-old man, a Moldovan citizen, was thrown out of the bus and later crushed by it. The medical crews who arrived at the scene could only confirm the death.
Another 15 people were injured and transported to medical facilities in the area. Most of the victims were taken to the hospital in Bârlad, the closest to the accident site, and three patients were directed to the Tecuci Municipal Hospital, according to the Galati Ambulance Service.

The bus driver was tested with the breathalyzer, the result was negative.
The police are continuing their investigations to establish exactly how the tragedy happened.
