Constantin Gâlcă (54 years old), the coach of Rapid, declared himself disappointed by most of the decisions taken on the field by his players in failure suffered on the move with CFR Cluj, score 0-1.
Meriton Korenica scored the only goal of the match in the 78th minute, and the Giulești team thus missed the chance to return to first place, a position taken over by the University of Craiova.
Constantin Gâlcă, disappointed by his students after the failure with CFR Cluj: “We didn't look good in terms of intelligence”
“It was important for us to win. I expected CFR to come higher, but they waited for us. We started the match well, but then we made a lot of mistakes. They managed to complete many actions, we didn't.
We had a lot more space between the lines, we also created a few chances, but we didn't look good in terms of intelligence, we needed to play faster and simpler.
There were players who could take the ball back, we also had actions in the last phases where we could pass. We weren't inspired, it's important to be inspired in football. An action, if you follow it through, can mean a lot.
I would have liked us to win, but nothing is done. But, we have to look much better, be much smarter in the game, manage situations better because we can and we have demonstrated”, said Constantin Gâlcă on the show “Fotbal Show”, from Prima Sport 1.
Regarding the fact that there are two matches at home after the international break, Gâlcă pointed out: “Our stadium is like a volcano, our supporters support us a lot throughout the match, this impulse is important for us, but it is much more important to express ourselves on the field.”
