FCSB and UTA Arad met in the second stage of the Superleague play-out, match ended with the victory of the Romanian champion, 1-0, at the National Arena. Called up for the first time to the national team, the striker from Arada spoke after the match, being replaced at half-time, without medical problems, in order not to risk being called up under the “tricolor”:
“We found out before the game (about the call-up). The call-up came after those good matches I had played. I am happy and I will give everything for the national team.
Asked about the half-time change, the striker said: “Yeah, I didn't want to risk it, I didn't feel anything, maybe just a little loaded from the road, and I told Mister I didn't want to risk it. I told him how I felt and decided not to risk it and go out.
I see UTA in the first 2 places in the play-out. We are fighting there, we have a good team and I say we have a chance for the first 2 places.”
