Time change 2026. We will change the clocks earlier than a year ago


Issues related to time changes in Poland are regulated by the regulation of the Prime Minister regarding the introduction and cancellation of Central European summer time for the years 2022-2026. However, the 2001 directive is in force throughout the European Union and defines common starting and ending dates for summer time.
In Poland, the transition to summer time does not follow a fixed date – it depends on the calendar and always falls on the last Sunday of March. While in 2025 the change occurred on the night of March 29-30, in 2026 it will occur on the night of March 28-29.

The time change has been controversial for years. Experts emphasize that changing the time twice a year is a strong interference in the human biological clock. The circadian rhythm, dependent on sunlight, affects the functioning of the body at the cellular level.
Changes in light exposure may affect the reading of DNA fragments and the production of enzymes. Changing your clocks to daylight saving time often means you have to get up earlier, which can cause you to wake up from the middle of your sleep.

In the world, fewer and fewer countries use daylight saving time. Currently, this practice applies only in about 40 percent. countries. The time change has been abolished, among others. in Egypt, Turkey, Armenia, Argentina, Brazil, Russia, as well as in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Yemen, India, China and Japan.
