On March 19, the board of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the Krasnoyarsk Territory (SUPKK) held a regular meeting dedicated to topical issues of industrial development in the region.

The meeting participants discussed a wide range of issues, including the personnel needs of enterprises, priority areas of activity of the working bodies of the association of employers, as well as the admission of new members to the organization.

During the meeting, the SPPCC Board was presented with proposals for the implementation of business initiatives in 2026 through the work of new committees, including the Committee on Arctic Affairs, created this year.

At the meeting, Sergei Tkachenko, vice-president – director of the Krasnoyarsk representative office of PJSC MMC, was elected chairman of the Arctic Committee “Norilsk Nickel”, and the co-chairman was a member of the Board of the SPP of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Chairman of the Norilsk City Council Alexander Pestryakov.

“Today’s meeting is not just a formal start of work. This is an opportunity for us, business representatives, to join forces, develop a common strategy, identify priority areas and, most importantly, build a constructive dialogue with government authorities,” Sergei Tkachenko presented his vision of the Committee’s work.

The Arctic Committee faces large-scale tasks:

  • Formation and promotion of a unified position of the business community on key issues of development of the Arctic and the North, including within the framework of the national Arctic policy.
  • Analysis and forecasting of economic, social and environmental challenges faced by enterprises in the Arctic zone and the northern territories of the region.
  • Development of proposals to improve the legislation and regulatory framework governing activities in order to reduce administrative barriers and improve the investment climate.
  • Promoting the introduction of innovative technologies and practices aimed at increasing production efficiency, reducing the burden on the environment and improving the quality of life of the population.
  • Supporting the development of human capital and training qualified personnel to work in the North.

“The work of the Committee on the Arctic and Northern Territories is not only an opportunity for business development, but also a huge responsibility to future generations. Our approach to the development of the Arctic must be balanced, far-sighted and primarily aimed at the benefit of our region and all of Russia,” Alexander Pestryakov noted in his speech.
