ADO Den Haag defender Diogo Tomas (28) has gone viral on social media following his flash interview after his team's 1-0 win over Jong FC Utrecht in the #32 round of the Dutch second division.

The triumph secured Den Haag's mathematical promotion to the Eredivisie, and Diogo Tomas appeared at the interview wearing sunglasses, smoking a cigar and drinking a beer. The defender who has put his shoulder to the promotion of his team also attracted attention with his speech which caused laughter.

Asked by the ESPN reporter if he was a popular man after fans entered the pitch to take pictures with the defender, the footballer replied: “Yes, I am who I am,” according to The Sun.

Asked if he would still be with the team next season, the defender replied: “We don't know where Tomas will be next season, but Tomas will be somewhere. Everything is possible,” the Finn replied, speaking about himself in the third person.

“I've enjoyed my time here. I love these guys. I'd go to a goddamn war with these guys,” Diogo Tomas concluded in the already viral video.

Diogo Tomas made his senior debut for Finnish side Ilves in 2016. He has since played in Finland for Mikkelin, FC Haka and KuPS, followed by a spell at Odd in Norway. He returned for half a season to HJK Helsinki, and then, in 2024, he arrived at ADO Den Haag. It is quoted by specialized websites at 400,000 euros. He has 4 selections in the senior national team of Finland.

ADO Den Haag made 74 points with 6 stages to go. Cambuur is in second place with 40 points. 3rd place is occupied by De Graafschap with 52 points, so Deen Haag has mathematically passed.
