The national football team of the state of Haiti is in fighting for a place at the World Football Championship next year. Following the last victory in traveling with Nicaragua, 3-0, Haiti occupies 1st place in the preliminary group, on equal points with Honduras.
A possible qualification at the next World Cup edition would mean for the small country in Central America a return to the final tournament after half a century since the last participation. However, the statements of US President Donald Trump (79), seem to question the country's presence in the United States.
1974, the year of the last world
With a rather deleted performance at the latest edition of Gold Cup, Haiti finished in the last position in a group of the United States, Saudi Arabia and Trinidad Tobago.
However, the national team of this country has not lost confidence, succeeding a very good start in the decisive qualification group at the World Cup.
