Another threat to Moldovan citizens. Chisinau reacts
The authorities in Chisinau strongly condemned the Russian attack on a Ukrainian power plant on March 7. According to Moldovans, the impact caused a leak of transformer oil and probably rocket fuel into the Dniester.
A few days after the attack, oil slicks were noticed in the town of Otaci – this is where the Dniester River flows into Moldova. “The Dniester River provides water for approximately 80 percent of the country's population and 98 percent of the inhabitants of the Chisinau commune,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova.
