Robert Cazanciuc demands an explanation from Bolojan for blocking the funding of the Justice District: “He has the duty to publicly explain the reasons for the non-funding”

PSD Senator Robert Cazanciuc asks Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan to explain why he refuses to continue funding the Justice District project, preferring instead to spend tens of millions of lei annually on rented premises in Bucharest.

According to Cazanciuc, justice is conducted in dilapidated buildings, and files are handled in unsanitary archives, brought to courtrooms on supermarket carts.
The senator claims that the solution would be the completion of the Justice District, a project that will bring together 23 judicial institutions and ensure optimal conditions for approximately 6,000 employees and 10,000 litigants daily.
Cazanciuc warns that the Bolojan Government would be the first, since 2013, to block this project, wasting money on rents and jeopardizing an Agreement with the World Bank. He also points out that each year without funding increases project costs, due to inflation and rising costs of construction materials and labor.
The PSD senator recalls that all previous governments supported the project and estimates that, if funding is secured, the Justice District could be completed by 2033.
“Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan has the duty to publicly explain the “reasons” for not funding a project vital to the functioning of an efficient justice system, preferring to spend tens of millions of lei annually for rented premises in Bucharest.
The refusal to finance the Justice District, assumed in the government program that was presented by Mr. Ilie Bolojan to the Parliament when he requested the vote of confidence, risks bringing Romania into the delicate situation of having an Agreement with the World Bank terminated, due to the non-fulfillment of the commitments assumed by law for the financing of this project.
The odyssey of the neighborhood and the requests addressed to the prime minister can be found in the interpellation that I recorded today at the Senate to be presented in the meeting tomorrow, March 18, 2026″. Senator Robert Cazanciuc wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
