VIDEO President Nicușor Dan donated blood: “It is essential that hospitals can provide the necessary transfusions”

President Nicușor Dan donated blood, on Tuesday, at the Cotroceni Palace, as part of an initiative hosted by the Presidential Administration, aimed at drawing attention to the shortage of blood in the medical system.
“Blood donation saves lives! Together, through simple gestures and easy actions, we can make a big difference. There are people who go through terrible experiences and traumas, through accidents or complicated medical interventions. In these dramatic situations, it is essential that hospitals can provide the necessary transfusions,” Nicușor Dan wrote in a post on X.
According to the president, the action organized on Tuesday in Cotroceni had the role of highlighting “the critical need for blood reserves in the medical system”.
“Today, the Union Hall in the Cotroceni Palace was transformed into a space of solidarity. The Presidential Administration hosted a blood donation initiative with the aim of drawing attention to this constant reality – the critical need for blood reserves in the medical system,” the head of state continued.
Nicușor Dan invoked the role of public example.
“Beyond official status, we are first and foremost a community, and the power of example is perhaps the most important message we can convey. That is why I have been encouraging regular blood donation for many years,” the president said.
He thanked the employees involved in the action and the medical staff from the Blood Transfusion Center of the Ministry of National Defense “Colonel Professor Doctor Nicolae Nestorescu”, where, according to his clarifications, the donation is made daily between 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
