Suspensions between six stages and four months after the Prahova Ploiesti scandal – Petrolul
Today, the Disciplinary and Ethics Commission of the FRF announced the decisions in the mentioned case, the Prahova Ploiești club being severely sanctioned. Prahova lost 0-3 in the 2nd Women's Football League match with Petrolul Ploiești, after the result on the field was 0-0, was penalized with another six points and was banned from transferring players for a transfer period.
At the same time, Adrian Teodorescu, who was listed in the documents as Prahova's second coach, was suspended for six games, and Cristina Iancu, the representative of the mentioned club, was suspended for four months. In addition, the player Estera Prunar was suspended for eight games.
What generated the sanctions?
At the end of the Prahova – Petrolul game, played on November 23, 2025, the guests filed an appeal in which they complained that a player of the hosts, Estera Prunar, played on the ID card of another footballer, Raisa Alexandra Dicu. At the end of the game, the referees requested that the player identify herself, but she did not appear before the game officials. The petrol players took several pictures of the player who appeared on Dicu's ID card, presenting all the evidence to the Disciplinary and Ethics Commission. After repeated postponements, the commission considered that Petrolul was right and dictated the mentioned sanctions.
Teodorescu was the first persona non-grata in Romanian football
Adrian Teodorescu, who practically leads Prahova Ploiești, was the first persona non grata in Romanian football. The sanction to the former player, which was then official at many clubs, including Dunărea Galați, Progresul Bucureşti, Flacăra Moreni, Farul Constanța, Poiana Cîmpina or Unirea Alba Iulia (where Estera Prunar was also legitimized), was dictated in 2008. The penalty appeared in connection with the match Progresul Bucureşti – Dunărea Galați, where it was claimed that Teodorescu tried to corrupt some Galați players.
-
After two years, the official of Prahova Ploiești was rehabilitated, at the initiative of his good friend, Marius Stan, the former manager of Oțelu Galați.
